The Coincidence Men are Kerry Griffin, Ralph MacLeod, Gord Oxley and Marcel St. Pierre – respected vets of Toronto’s improv comedy scene. Their monthly Stupid Good Comedy Show at The Social Capital Theatre is a high-energy improv comedy cabaret featuring some of Toronto’s best guest improvisors and troupes, and headlined as always by The Coincidence Men – made up on the spot, based on nothing more than audience suggestions.
“… serious comedic heavyweights …” – Toronto Star
They are founding members of Toronto’s Bad Dog Theatre Company, with shared and individual credits including The Second City, Monkey Toast, Theatresports, Big City Improv and more. The group are also accomplished comedy writers; their original adaption Shakespeare’s Ghostbusters garnered sold-out shows and a place on the 2017 Toronto Fringe Best Of The Fringe critic’s list.
“NNNN … hilarious… inventive…” – Now Magazine
With multiple Canadian comedy awards, Gemini nominations and 100+ years of collective improv experience between them, they’ve been described as “the oldest surviving improv troupe in the world” and akin to spending an evening in “a roomful of Alan Aldas”.
“… a powerful ensemble… pure confidence… surefire comedy…”
– Mooney On Theatre
